INSPIRATION
Ainoah belongs to the family of refined female silhouettes that I enjoy creating. It is in this economy of forms that lies its strength, that is inscribed in its presence. Reduced to the essentials, the silhouette embodies that moment when one chooses to stand upright, without artifice or justification. It is a sculpture on the presence within oneself: a presence that does not seek to convince, but simply exists.
The line of the body, slightly curved, carries within it the movement of life. This subtle oscillation is emblematic of our own inner balances: we never stand perfectly still; we adjust, we breathe, we continue to move forward despite the tensions. Ainoah thus speaks of discreet resilience, that strength that does not manifest itself in brilliance but in constancy.
The deep blue – the phthalo/Klein blue family – that covers the entire room evokes night, introspection, an interior space preserved from the outside gaze – as if this silhouette carries within it an entire intimate, unfathomable world that is nevertheless open to anyone who takes the time to truly look at it. It is an invitation to silent self-esteem, to that part of us that doesn’t need anyone else to feel legitimate in its existence.
Made of bronze using the traditional lost-wax casting technique, the blue patina is obtained through a chemical reaction at high temperatures.
A collectors' item. With its height and unique hue, Ainoah stands out as a characterful sculpture, both alone in a pared-down interior and in dialogue with other pieces from my series of vertical silhouettes.
