INSPIRATION
Absolutely Us is a massive, raw bronze sculpture in miniature format (11 x 6 x 8 cm), which in a single gesture condenses the entire intensity of a bond between two people. Two round heads, slightly inclined against each other in a movement of listening and complicity, rise above a common body sculpted into a single curved mass — as if the two figures were no longer separate, sitting, folding in on themselves in a moment of shared presence.
The form plays on a marked contrast: on the one hand, a full and rounded silhouette, with a mineral and hammered texture typical of my sculptural vocabulary; on the other, a smoother, inclined plane that stabilizes the whole, like a support, a living base on which the figurative relationship rests. This tension between density and purity reflects what I explore in much of my work: the way two beings, through their mere proximity, end up forming a third entity — an absolute «we,» as the title of the piece suggests.
Thanks to its compact format, «Absolutely us» naturally finds its place on a desk, a shelf or a coffee table. An original work by the artist-author, it will appeal to fans of contemporary figurative sculpture who are sensitive to themes of connection, intimacy and fusion between two beings.
Limited and numbered edition, all copies have been sold. From this sculpture was born «Definitely us», a slightly different version, more enveloping in the expression of the bond.
