Eléa is a solid bronze sculpture measuring 158 cm in height, a signed collector's piece embodying verticality as a metaphor for human elevation. From a conical plinth with a hammered, dense and mineral texture, the form gradually refines until it transforms into a smooth, slender silhouette, crowned with a stylised head with clean lines — the recognisable stylistic signature of my work as a contemporary figurative sculptor.
This contrast between the raw material of the base — evoking rock, earth, grounding — and the polished fluidity of the soaring bust reflects a central tension in my artistic approach: that which exists between the heaviness of our origins and the aspiration to transcend oneself. Reduced to the essential, Eléa's silhouette becomes universal, bearing that quiet presence I seek to express in every figurative bronze sculpture I create.
Technique and know-how. Eléa was crafted using the traditional lost-wax casting technique in an art foundry with which I have long collaborated, perpetuating an exceptional craftsmanship that is rare in contemporary sculpture. The patina is the raw result of the casting after light sanding; it catches and reflects the light according to the hours of the day, giving the work a changing and living presence—a major asset for an indoor installation as well as outdoors, in a garden or landscaped space.
