INSPIRATION

Discover my bronze bird sculpture “Bohème” in my “Birds” series, which captures the grace and freedom of bird flight. Produced using traditional lost-wax techniques, these works express the lightness of movement through clean lines and a rough-cast texture.

Each detail reflects the life of the alloy, giving rise to a unique piece in which the material comes to life. The birds, suspended in poetic flight, evoke a feeling of serenity and escape, transporting the viewer to a dreamy, contemplative elsewhere.

Ideal for a contemporary interior or garden, these works blend harmoniously into a variety of spaces, adding a touch of elegance and dynamism. Bronze, a noble and timeless material, gives the sculptures exceptional durability, while playing with light to reveal deep, golden reflections.

These works are limited editions (8 copies and 4 artist's proofs) and are a tribute to nature and movement, themes dear to the hearts of art and design lovers. Whether you're a collector, decorator or art enthusiast, they'll captivate your eye and enrich your space with their subtle, ethereal energy.

A work inspired by the history of art

Bronze has been an emblematic material for sculpture since ancient times, used by the Greeks and Romans to immortalise divine and heroic figures. During the Renaissance, artists such as Donatello and Cellini exploited its flexibility to create highly expressive works. Bohème follows in this tradition, combining a classical approach to the material with a modernity of form and movement, inspired by the research and creations of Henri Matisse and Alexander Calder on the lightness and dynamism of sculptural forms.

Harmony between art and science: the aerodynamics of flight

The study of bird flight has fascinated artists and scientists throughout the centuries. Bohème's design is inspired by the principles of aerodynamics, with outstretched wings evoking lift and the efficiency of flight. Slightly curved, they recall the shape of the wings of gulls and albatrosses, optimised for gliding with minimum effort. This dynamic gives the sculpture a fluid, natural movement, capturing the precise moment when the bird flies through the air with grace and lightness.
